John 12:31 ( posted 11-26-13 )

Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

Let's continue.

Now is the judgment of this world:

We will find that later in this chapter we are studying, Jesus clearly said;

And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.John 12:47

At this moment Jesus inferred who will be the judge...referring to His Father;

He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. John 12:48

Even though Jesus said;

Now in the verse of our study, keep in mind that a day is as a thousand years and a thousand years is as a day to the Lord;

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 2 Peter 3:8

Nowcan be a very long time to us but to the Lord, almost immediate.

From the moment Jesus made this statement, in actuality the judgment of this world is at least ( though not limited to ) a two-fold process over a period of time consisting of more than 3007 years.

The signing of the 7 year peace treaty the “ antichrist “ brings the Jews and the Arabs to agreeing on in the future, commonly known among evangelicals as the 7 year tribulation period is referred to in the Holy Bible as the time of God's wrath. This is at least 2000 years from the time Jesus made this statement about this world's judgment being Now.

The next form of judgment is another 1000 years after this when God brings fire down from Heaven on the armies who once again gather around Jerusalem to destroy Jesus and the Jews...after satan is released from the abyss.

And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. Revelation 20:7-9

The final judgment will be an undetermined length of time after this.

And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:11-15

Again, keep in mind this final judgment will be at least 3007 years from the moment Jesus made this statement in the verse of our study.

now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

The Greek word “ archon “ translated prince means ruler, chief, magistrate, a first in rank or power.

Jesus said clearly about satan;

Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me. “   John 14:30

Paul called satan the god of this world;

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. “ 2 Corinthians 4:4

Once again, the now Jesus referred to in the verse of our study;

now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

will not happen to satan for at least 3007 years from the moment Jesus said this.

And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Revelation 20:10

Satan as the “ god “ and “ prince “ of this present world still has the ability to deceive and to mislead.

However, because of the death of Jesus, for those of us who believe in Jesus, satan has no stronghold over us. His power has been broken.

Yes, He can deceive even those of us who believe in Jesus but he has no power over people who believe in Jesus.

I will continue with verse 32 in the next study.

Today's Bible Verse Proverbs 13:7

" There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches. "

This Week's Sermon ( 2-15-15 )

As I said, I will insert a different topic periodically throughout my discussions on Bible prophecy.

I recently lost my Mom and my wife.

My Mom died June 25 and then my wife died October 26.

A friend compared my loss to that of Job.

I recently read the book of Job and the book of Psalms.

I realize that Job and David both suffered worse things than I have but I found that Job and David said things during their suffering that I have also said during my suffering.

Job's own wife turned on him and told him to curse God and die.

I guess she thought if her husband was dead she would not have to suffer anymore.

That's an interesting display of love for her husband.

Job said he wished he had never been born, and wished he had died in his mother's womb.

I can relate, as I have said the same thing.

When I was a baby I got asthma and the doctor told my Dad that I was going to die.

Like Job wished for, I would have also been spared all this grief and misery.

My friend, if you are going through a time of devastating grief, I would suggest you read the books of Job and Psalms.

If you are hoping and praying for a miracle like I am, never give up asking the Lord.

Be specific about what you want from Him.

David said;

Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. Psalm 37:4-5

Notice David said under the divine inspiration of the Holy Spirit, that God will give us the desires of our heart, if we commit ourselves unto the Lord and trust Him.

Do not let your grief cause you to doubt God's love, mercy and kindness.

Jesus clearly said;

And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Matthew 21:22

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. “  John 14:13

Notice Jesus said;

whatsoever

Jesus told a story to encourage us to keep praying and to never give up;

And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:

And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.

And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;

Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.“  Luke 18:1-5

The point is that we should never give up.

I told the Lord I will keep asking Him until He does.

If you think your request of God is too great for God to be able to do, Jesus said quite clearly;

And Jesus looking upon them saith, With menit isimpossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.“  Mark 10:27

David talked about how God caused water to come out of rocks in the desert for the Israelites.

He also talked about how God caused food to fall from the sky and land at their doorstep.

Elisha and his servant were out chopping wood and the axehead broke off and fell into the river. The servant was worried since the axe had been borrowed.

Elisha told him not to worry and asked him where it fell into the river.

Since it was made of iron it sank to the bottom of the river.

He then cut a stick and tossed it into the river.

The iron axehead swam to the stick Elisha had cut and tossed into the river and the iron axehead attached itself to the stick.

Elisha told his servant to pick it up and they went back to chopping wood.

Incredible.

Whatever your hearts desire is, keep asking God and never give up.

God can literally do anything.

Nothing is beyond His capability.

Just do not let your grief cause you to doubt.

Today's Bible Verse Amos 5:8

" Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name: "
