This Week's Sermon: Prophecy continued ( 3-17-15 )

Somehow, between today and the second advent – that is, when Jesus returns to cast the antichrist into the lake of fire and establishes His Millennial Kingdom here on earth, there will be a surprise attack on Israel.

By surprise, I mean literally, a surprise attack without Israel being suspicious of being invaded.

Ezekiel clearly said that Israel would be unsuspecting of being invaded when this war takes place against Israel;

And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,

And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:

And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:

Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet:

Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.

Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.

After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.

Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.

Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought:

And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,“   Ezekiel 38:1-11

This is certainly not the Battle of Armageddon as many think, simply because at the time of the Battle of Armageddon, which does not happen until the end of the 7 year tribulation period, the Jews will already, for 3-1/2 years, been running for their lives and hiding in Petra after the antichrist reveals his true identity to the Jews and turns on them at the middle of the 7 year tribulation period.

The Battle of Armageddon will be no surprise to the Jews because of being threatened for 3-1/2 years by the antichrist.

The two witnesses will probably be the ones who will keep the Jews from being destroyed during the last 3-1/2 years of the 7 year tribulation period.

Since the Jews trusted the antichrist and enjoyed 3-1/2 years of peace during the first half of the 7 year tribulation period without threat of being invaded, thinking the antichrist is their messiah, this war of Ezekiel as he describes Israel living without suspecting of being invaded could happen at the end of the first 3-1/2 years of the 7 year tribulation period when the antichrist turns against the Jews and desecrates their which he probably helped them to rebuild with his protection.

This moment in the overall history of Israel to the present would be the only time Jews would be living without worrying about being Ezekiel described.

Since the war is an unannounced surprise attack on Israel, much as Pearl Harbor was, it would make sense that during their trust of the antichrist as being their long awaited messiah, this is when it will happen.

Any attack can happen today but it would not be without expectation and would not be any surprise to Israel.

This war of Ezekiel is a total shock to the Jews.

It is sad but notice some of the nations involved in this surprise attack against Israel.

It includes much of Europe, northern Africa, Russia and the Middle East.

After the antichrist takes control of these countries during the first 3-1/2 years of the 7 year tribulation period, he will secretly bring them together to attack Israel without Israel expecting this to happen.

The Jews will then, obviously, learn they made a mistake believing the antichrist to be their messiah.
