This Week's Sermon: Prophecy continued ( 5-5-15 )

I was talking to a christian friend recently who told me his cousin no longer believes Jesus is literally the only way to Heaven.

I personally have heard this from another evangelical christian friend.

These evangelical christians once believed that Jesus is the only way to Heaven but now believe different.

For them, Jesus is still ' a way ' to Heaven but not literally the only way to Heaven.

For them, Jesus is now one of many ways to Heaven.

This belief within evangelicalism is becoming more widespread.

Paul prophesied this change of belief from what people once believed but no longer believe.

The term Paul gave for it is “ apostasy “.

Paul clearly said;

Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; “  2 Thessalonians 2:3

The Greek words “ he apostasia “ translated “ a falling away “ has the definite article meaning

the Apostasy “ - a serious major abandonment of the faith.

The translated English phrase “ a falling away “ does not mean born again christians falling off planet earth at the time of the rapture.

Webster defines the word “ apostasy “ as this - “ an abandoning of what one has believed in, as a faith, cause, principle, etc. “

Abandonment of what one once believed is truly abandonment. If they never believed something to begin with then it would not be abandonment. A person has to once have believed something and then changed their faith or it would not be abandonment or

apostasy “.

Paul used the word “ apostasy “ plain and clear.

This new belief within evangelicalism of Jesus no longer being literally the only way to Heaven as Jesus claimed but now believe that Jesus is one of many ways to Heaven is an abandonment of what these evangelicals once believed – in other words, what Paul prophesied as “ the Apostasy ”.

I asked my evangelical friend if he believes Jesus lied to us when He claimed to be the only way to Heaven... he said, “ yes “.

We are definitely living in the end times.
