This Week's Sermon ( 6-16-15 )

If you are asking the Lord for something important, Jesus said to never give up asking Him.

The point of this parable Jesus taught, is just as He said at the start – don't give up;

And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:

And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.

And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;

Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.

And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.“   Luke 18:1-6

And this judge, even though not saved, still granted the woman's request.

How much more will our Heavenly Father through our faith in His Son Jesus Christ grant us our requests if we never give up asking Him?

It is interesting that Jesus did end His parable with this comment about those of us who believe in Him;

...Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? “  Luke 18:8

The psalmist David said this;

Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.“  Psalm 37:3-5

It is interesting that David said;

and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. “

I've been fasting and praying for a particular miracle from the Lord.

I've told Him I'm going to keep asking Him until He does it.

Even if God does not answer my request, since it is an unusual request, I will still love Him and trust Him and know in my heart that He is able to do it even if He chooses not to.

It might be a first time for God to do what I ask of Him.

At least it has never been recorded in the Holy Bible as God having ever done such a thing.

I know in my heart there is nothing impossible for God to do.

Jesus clearly said;

But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. “   Matthew 19:26

And Jesus looking upon them saith, With menit isimpossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. “   Mark 10:27

And Jesus also said;

Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all thingsarepossible to him that believeth. “  Mark 9:23

My friend, if you are in great need to hear from God, as Jesus said, do not give up.
