This Week's Sermon: ( 2-2-16 )

" Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him. "  Job 13:15

If you are like me and have lost someone you dearly love and feel as though life has dealt you a dirty blow, just remember the suffering Job went through before God later blessed him again.

Job was so devastated and depressed he said he wished he had never been born.

" Wherefore then hast thou brought me forth out of the womb? Oh that I had given up the ghost, and no eye had seen me!

I should have been as though I had not been; I should have been carried from the womb to the grave. "  Job 10:18-19

However, Job had a relationship with God and knew God in his heart.

Even though he thought God was doing all the terrible things that was happening to him, he still chose to trust God.

" Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him:... "

My friend, if you are going through a rough time through the death of a loved one or for any other reason, and you wonder how this can be happening to you, even being a child of God through your faith in Jesus Christ, just keep on trusting God, as Job did.

As my wife would say, even though she died, don't give up.

My dad wrote a song early in his life and titled it - " Look on the Brighter Side "

My dad was going through a tough time in his life when he wrote this song.

" Look on the brighter side of life,

Don't let your troubles make you blue.

Just wear a sunny smile,

Twill make your life worthwhile,

The Lord will be there to see you through.

Chorus:

Just think of your home up in Heaven,

Where there will be no more pain, no more strife,

You know some day you'll be in glory,

So look on the brighter side of life. "

Keep trusting in God and don't give up!
