This Week's Sermon ( 1-5-20 )

" And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.  "   Luke 2:7-16

" In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
"
  John 1:1-3

" And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.  "   John 1:14

I tell Jesus I wish I could have been there when all this happened.

I tell Jesus I wish I had been there when He was born.

I tell Jesus I wish I had been there when the angels made the announcement.

I tell Jesus I wish I had been at the carpenter shop in Nazareth when He and Joseph were working in there.

I told Jesus when I was in Israel back in 1993, I took a picture of a carpenter shop in Nazareth in memory of Jesus.

I tell Jesus I wish I had been there when they nearly beat Him to death.

I tell Jesus I wish I had been there when they made Him wear a crown of thorns.

I tell Jesus I wish I had been there to help Him carry His cross up the hill when He was not physically able to after having been beaten so bad.

I tell Jesus I wish I had been there when they nailed Him to that cross.

I tell Jesus I wish I had been there when they dropped His cross in the hole in the ground so His cross would stay standing, after nailing Him to the cross. I cannot imagine the pain and agony Jesus felt at this moment when this happened.

I tell Jesus I wish I had been there when He came out of the tomb.

I tell Jesus I wish I had been there when He ascended up into Heaven when He left His disciples.

In 1993, I was in Israel for 21 days as a volunteer worker and I did get to see where Jesus was crucified and where He came out of the tomb and I got to stand where Jesus ascended into Heaven.

If you ever get the chance to go to Israel, it is really something to walk where Jesus walked.

I saw the gate Jesus will go through when He returns someday.

Can't wait to meet Jesus.

Keep your faith in Jesus and in Him alone, not in anyone else nor anything else.

Jesus is enough.
