This Week's Sermon ( 4-11-19 )

" And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,
Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.
And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.  "   Luke 22:41-44

I cannot fathom God leaving His throne to come to earth and become one of His own creation, to suffer and die for us.

Jesus knew at this moment what He was about to go through and in His human flesh He considered backing out of going through with what was soon to happen to Him.

Jesus could have changed His mind and backed out and would have been justified in doing so because He is God and can do no wrong.

But He remembered why He left His throne and came here.

The reason was to die for you and me.

I thank Jesus often for not choosing to back out but rather choosing to go through with His suffering and death for our salvation.

We would never be in Heaven if it wasn't for Jesus and His death.

As long as we believe and keep our faith in Jesus, when we die, we will be with Him in Heaven.

He is our only hope to make it to Heaven.

We cannot earn Heaven.

It is only by the blood of Jesus that we will be in Heaven when we draw our last breath in this life.

I will be seeing Jesus soon.

I've always wanted to meet Jesus and I will soon.

I find Jesus amazing. More than amazing.

Always keep your faith in Jesus as He literally is our only hope.
