This Week's Sermon ( 12-21-17 )

" But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. "   Matthew 1:20-23

" And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.  "   Luke 2:10-12

" The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.  "   John 1:29

Jesus is an amazing person.

The Holy Bible teaches there is only one God, not 3.

God took on human form and became a man, was conceived in the womb of the virgin Mary by the Holy Ghost, became God's only begotten Son, actually God becoming His only begotten Son and calling Himself, Jesus.

Jesus said;

I and my Father are one.  "   John 10:30

Jesus is the only begotten Son of God and is God in the flesh.

Jesus, who is also called " Emmanuel " means literally, " God with us. "

This is incredible that God would become one of us.

God knew even before He created this planet we live on that He would have to become one of us and die for us in order to save us from our sins and save us from eternal hell.

God was literally born to die.

My friend, we need to put our faith in this man known as Jesus and believe everything the Holy Bible teaches about Him.

Jesus is our only hope to be saved when we draw our last breath in this earthly life.

Only Jesus alone can save us from damnation in eternal hell.

Jesus came to give us peace in our heart when it comes our time to die.

When we believe in Jesus there is no need to fear what will happen to us beyond death.

We know by what Jesus said we will be safe with Him for all eternity but we must choose to believe in Him and Him alone while we are still here in this present life.

After death it will be too late to change our mind.

Tell others that Jesus is the only way to Heaven as He said He is the only way, not one of many ways.

Keep your faith in Jesus to the end.

This Week's Sermon ( 1-13-17 )

" And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. "   Luke 21:34-36

" Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. "   Matthew 24:42

I was talking to an unsaved person recently who told me she thinks there is something going on with the way things are in the world today.

If an unsaved person can wonder what is going on from watching the news and seeing things going on with nature being destructive all over the world, how much more should we who claim to belong to Jesus Christ be considering we could be nearing the time the Bible prophesied.

This unsaved person I talked to told me she thinks the end of the world might be coming.

We as born again followers of Jesus need to quit using the excuse - " we don't know when Jesus is coming " ( which I have learned is merely used as an excuse to hide someone's true feeling that he or she actually does not want Jesus to come back, as they are in love with themselves and their life here on earth ).

This is sad but true.

Even though we do not know when Jesus will return, Jesus told us we are to watch for His return.

" Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. "

However, in recent months, I have been hearing more and more evangelicals tell me that they want Jesus to come back soon...( something I have not heard in years ) mainly because of the bad times in the world presently.

Listening to this unsaved person opened my eyes to the fact that since the unsaved are wondering, we might really be nearing the time Jesus will return.

Before my wife died, she told me she felt that Jesus would be returning soon.

We as followers of Jesus need to be watching for our Lord to come back.

I ask Jesus every day to please come and rapture us up to be with Him.

If Paul, John, Peter and the early christians thought Jesus was returning 2000 years ago, how much more should we today.

It is interesting that when John wrote the book of Revelation 2000 years ago, some of his last words were;

" Even so, come, Lord Jesus. "   Revelation 22:20

John wanted Jesus to come back so much.

I do too.

This Week's Sermon ( 1-3-17 )

" But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. "   Galatians 4:4-7

" And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. "   John 1:14

" I and my Father are one. "  John 10:30

Christmas is now past, the time of year evangelicals choose to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Whenever Jesus was born, we must remember what is important is that, according to the Holy Bible, Jesus is literally God in the flesh.

God literally became a human being, one of His own creation.

Jesus is not a created person, a created human being.

Jesus is God made flesh who dwelt among us, as John said.

In a sense, God became His own Son.

Amazing.

This is why the Holy Bible refers to Jesus as God's only begotten Son.

We as humans ourselves are not born sons and daughters of God but we become adopted children of God by our faith in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son.

God the Father, God the Holy Ghost, and God the Son Jesus, are literally all one in the same God...not 3 Gods.

Jesus clearly said;

" Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. "   John 10:17-18

The reason Jesus declared this statement is because He is God.

My friend, we either believe Jesus at His word or we do not.

The choice is ours.

I choose to believe what Jesus said.

Keep your faith in Jesus to the end.

Don't change your faith to believe in someone or something else.

This Week's Sermon ( 12-6-16 )

" But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. "   1 John 1:7-10

This statement of John refers to those of us who believe in Jesus Christ.

This is why John repeatedly said;

" we "

Yes, even those of us who claim to follow Jesus must live right.

This is why John said;

" But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, "

We must acknowledge our sin, confess it, repent and turn from our sins and ask God to forgive us.

True repentance requires acknowledgement that we sinned and confession of our sin, to turn from our sins, and then we will be forgiven.

This is why John said;

" If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. "

I was thinking today of all my past sins and present sins, all through my life to the present.

Even though I get down on my knees everyday and confess my sins and ask God to forgive me, I still remember what I have done wrong.

What is wonderful to know is that because of God's grace that He bestows upon us, not only does He forgive us for our sins, He forgets how we sinned against Him.

Even though we remember our sins and all the things we have done wrong, He chooses to forget our sins when He forgives us.

What hope we have when we stand before Him.

Paul remembered his own sins he committed and wrote about them in the New Testament.

Paul said about himself;

" This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. "   1 Timothy 1:15

Notice Paul said;

" I am ",

not, I was.

But he also knew God forgave him and that God does not remember what sins he did or does.

Nor will it ever be held against him.

Praise the Lord.

We have hope.
