This Week's Sermon ( 2-20-18 )

" Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. "   Psalm 41:1

" He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he. "   Proverbs 14:21

" He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again. "   Proverbs 19:17

" He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse. "   Proverbs 28:27

" As the days wherein the Jews rested from their enemies, and the month which was turned unto them from sorrow to joy, and from mourning into a good day: that they should make them days of feasting and joy, and of sending portions one to another, and gifts to the poor.  "   Esther 9:22

My wife and I enjoyed taking food to the homeless.

We discovered in downtown Denver where the real homeless are, those who literally sleep on the sidewalks. Nearby, there is what is called, The Denver Rescue Mission but they cannot contain all the homeless as there are so many nowadays.

When my wife and I first started taking food to the homeless, there weren't really all that many. The age of them was like forties and older. But now, it is like a city within the city of downtown Denver and includes both young and old.

Even though my wife died, I continue to do this.

Two days ago on Sunday, I took food to the homeless. I got to see a born again christian once again who I had met the last time I went there. Part of one of his legs is gone and he has to be in a wheelchair. He told me he is a believer in Jesus Christ.

I'm finding that there are many born again believers in Jesus who live on the streets.

As I was setting food on the sidewalk a homeless man came up to me and asked me if he could have a can of Pepsi. I looked at him and said - " Of course. This is for you. " He responded by saying to me - " The Lord bless you. "

That just made my day.

My friend, there is a real blessing that comes from doing this for the poor and needy.

I understand why Jesus was with the poor so much.

I encourage you to give to the homeless in your area.  According to Solomon in Proverbs, it is like giving to the Lord.

Take the time to deliver food to them personally and witness to them about Jesus.

They really appreciate it.

I always say to all of them, " Give your heart to Jesus! "

Many respond by saying - " Amen! "

You will be surpised how many homeless people are believers in Jesus.

This Week's Sermon ( 5-23-17 )

" I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.  "   Psalm 139:14-16

I understand in detail now what David meant when he said;

" for I am fearfully and wonderfully made "

I went to a dermatologist.

While I was waiting in his office, I was looking at the skin charts he has on his wall.

I was amazed at the multiple layers in human skin tissue.

I was also surprised to see how many layers within a strand of human hair.

I never knew how complex we are.

When the doctor came in I said - " God sure put a lot into making us, didn't He. "

His response was - " And that is not even the half of it. "

John said about Jesus;

" All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.  "   John 1:3

When I look at insects that are so small I can hardly see them and realize how vast God is and still could make them that small with a brain, to be able to see, and with the ability to get around, I marvel at God.

When I look at the trees, bushes, plants, flowers and see all the intricate details within them, I marvel at God.

When I look at the mountains and the clouds and their design, I marvel at God.

When I look at the night sky and see the planets and stars and their positioning and design, I marvel at God.

I tell God, there are no words in my vocabulary to describe you Lord.

You are beyond amazing.

My friend, I do have cancer.

My wife died of cancer just shortly after my mother died.

Those of us who believe in Jesus will make it to Heaven.

Thank you for reading me all these years.

It is not like I'm going to die next week.

The doctor said this cancer will take time but there will be a lot of suffering before I die.

Always remember that Jesus, who is the Son of God and who is also God our creator said plainly;

" I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.  "   John 14:6

Notice Jesus said;

I am the way, "

Jesus is not on a list of multiple choices of how to get to Heaven.

Jesus is not merely one of many ways to get to Heaven.

Jesus said He is quite literally the only way to Heaven.

Believing Jesus at His word is a choice we must make before we physically die.

After death is too late to make the choice. We must choose while we are still in this life.

The criminal just hours before he died on the cross next to Jesus made a wise choice in believing in Jesus.

According to Jesus, that criminal is forgiven and is in Heaven with Jesus.

" And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.  "   Luke 23:42-43

I'm anxious to meet you all in Heaven someday.

Hopefully, Jesus will return soon.

May the Lord Jesus bless you and keep you in His love and care.

By the way, Jesus still heals today just as He did 2,000 years ago.

Jesus is the same as He was when He walked this earth.

The writer of Hebrews said;

" Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.  "   Hebrews 13:8

This Week's Sermon ( 5-3-17 )

" And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. "   Daniel 7:24-25

I was watching the evening news and it was said that President Donald Trump is planning to make peace in the Middle East.

Former President Bill Clinton and other American presidents tried to bring peace to the Middle East.

My friend, a deep careful study of the Holy Bible shows the only one who will bring peace in the Middle East - that is, a temporary peace, will be a man from Syria who will come on the political scene as an everyone's friend sort of guy.

At the start of his impact on society, he will bring a temporary peace and have intelligent solutions to world problems like no other has ever had.

His ideas will actually work, while everyone else's has failed so far.

He will actually have the smarts to bring both the Jews and the Arabs to signing a 7 year peace treaty.

However, before this man can get started there will be a 10 nation empire.

And yes, only 10 nations.

One of these 10 nations will be Syria, in which this man will come out of and rise to political fame.

Just be careful not to fall for his deception.

After he gains trust from many people he will change his tactics.

This Week's Sermon ( 4-25-17 )

" Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. "   1 Corinthans  15:51-52

Whenever Jesus is going to return, the fact is, He will return.

Paul thought Jesus was going to return back in his day.

This is why he said;

" For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words.  "   1 Thessalonians 4:16-18

Note how Paul described the " rapture " - which means in the Greek, " caught up " as is translated, as happening in the blink of an eye.

I remember an airline a long time ago, whose executives would not allow 2 born again christian pilots in the cockpit during the same flight.

The reason was, should the rapture take place during the flight, there would be no one left to fly the plane and keep the passengers alive.

While I was driving recently, I wondered what would happen should the rapture happen while I was driving.

Obviously, my car would crash somewhere.

I also thought of other believers in Jesus if they are driving when the rapture takes place what would happen to their vehicles.

There will be many wrecks and no doubt many get hurt from crashing driverless vehicles.

What if a born again surgeon is performing heart surgery on a patient when the rapture takes place.

My friend, no matter what, Jesus is going to return when He is ready to.

When I hear His shout, the voice of the archangel, and the trumpet of God, I will gladly go up to meet Him in the clouds no matter where I'm at or what I'm doing.

Jesus said we are to watch for His return.

We need to be willing to lay everything aside and go to be with Him. That is, if we really want to be with Him.

Jesus clearly said;

" And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.  "   Luke 24:34-36

I have noticed in recent months because of what is going on throughout the world, that more and more believers are wanting Jesus to return. They tell me they think these are signs of the return of Jesus.

Surprisingly, even unsaved people tell me they are wondering what is going on.

That is interesting.

I did not used to hear much about the return of Jesus from christians until recently. Many were in love with their life and their prosperity and would rather stay here and enjoy it.

My friend, as Jesus said;

" Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.  "   Matthew 6:19-21

As with Paul, John and Peter and the rest, their heart was in Heaven and they would rather have been with Jesus.

We need to be like this too.

Let us look for Jesus and anxiously wait for His return, being willing to let go of everything we have, when He does return.

It is certain if we die first before Jesus returns, we will have to let go of everything.
