This Week's Sermon ( 6-20-17 )

" Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?  "  Hebrews 1:14

Notice the writer of Hebrews said;

" heirs of salvation "

I will be talking about salvation... what it is, the significance of it and the need for it before we physically die.

I will be talking about who saves us and from what.

I will be talking about how in God's eyes, there are only 2 categories of human beings...the saved and the unsaved.

I will be talking about how you do not need to fear death, wondering what will happen to you after death, if you even believe you will exist after you draw your last breath in this life...as many do not.

I will be talking about the fact that there is only one way to Heaven...not multiple ways, as many believe.

I will be talking about how no human being can earn their entrance into Heaven...even though many people think they are good enough for Heaven.

I will be talking about the fact there is a literal hell that does exist...as many do not believe.

Join me as I discuss these topics.

This Week's Sermon ( 1-3-17 )

" But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. "   Galatians 4:4-7

" And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. "   John 1:14

" I and my Father are one. "  John 10:30

Christmas is now past, the time of year evangelicals choose to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Whenever Jesus was born, we must remember what is important is that, according to the Holy Bible, Jesus is literally God in the flesh.

God literally became a human being, one of His own creation.

Jesus is not a created person, a created human being.

Jesus is God made flesh who dwelt among us, as John said.

In a sense, God became His own Son.

Amazing.

This is why the Holy Bible refers to Jesus as God's only begotten Son.

We as humans ourselves are not born sons and daughters of God but we become adopted children of God by our faith in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son.

God the Father, God the Holy Ghost, and God the Son Jesus, are literally all one in the same God...not 3 Gods.

Jesus clearly said;

" Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. "   John 10:17-18

The reason Jesus declared this statement is because He is God.

My friend, we either believe Jesus at His word or we do not.

The choice is ours.

I choose to believe what Jesus said.

Keep your faith in Jesus to the end.

Don't change your faith to believe in someone or something else.

This Week's Sermon ( 12-6-16 )

" But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. "   1 John 1:7-10

This statement of John refers to those of us who believe in Jesus Christ.

This is why John repeatedly said;

" we "

Yes, even those of us who claim to follow Jesus must live right.

This is why John said;

" But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, "

We must acknowledge our sin, confess it, repent and turn from our sins and ask God to forgive us.

True repentance requires acknowledgement that we sinned and confession of our sin, to turn from our sins, and then we will be forgiven.

This is why John said;

" If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. "

I was thinking today of all my past sins and present sins, all through my life to the present.

Even though I get down on my knees everyday and confess my sins and ask God to forgive me, I still remember what I have done wrong.

What is wonderful to know is that because of God's grace that He bestows upon us, not only does He forgive us for our sins, He forgets how we sinned against Him.

Even though we remember our sins and all the things we have done wrong, He chooses to forget our sins when He forgives us.

What hope we have when we stand before Him.

Paul remembered his own sins he committed and wrote about them in the New Testament.

Paul said about himself;

" This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. "   1 Timothy 1:15

Notice Paul said;

" I am ",

not, I was.

But he also knew God forgave him and that God does not remember what sins he did or does.

Nor will it ever be held against him.

Praise the Lord.

We have hope.

This Week's Sermon ( 11-22-16 )

" I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.  "   1 Timothy 2:1-6

" Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.
Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.  "   Romans 13:1-7

" Shew me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Caesar's.
And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's.
And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marvelled at his answer, and held their peace.  "   Luke 20:24-26

No matter what our opinion of the election is here in the United States of America, we must be in subjection to our leaders...according to the Holy Bible.

Even Jesus Himself obeyed the laws of the land.

Those of us who claim to follow Jesus should pray for our President and other leaders.

If we do not know what to pray for, pray that our President and other leaders come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
