This Week's Sermon ( 11-21-17 )

" He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.  "   Revelation 22:20

" I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.
And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)
How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. "   2 Corinthians 12:2-4

" For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: "   Philippians 1:23

" But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.  "   Matthew 6:20-21

As I mentioned in my last week's sermon, Samuel and Paul, both having been in Heaven and seen Heaven, preferred to be in Heaven.

John also had been to Heaven and wrote the book of Revelation.

Notice how he said after having been in Heaven;

" Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.  "

John wanted Jesus to return.

Only people who have been to Heaven and seen Heaven, prefer to be in Heaven.

Like Paul said;

" For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: "

Those of us who have never been to Heaven nor seen Heaven would still rather be here in this present life and wish we could live here forever.

Nobody wants to die. This is all we have ever known.

If we are enjoying a prosperous life and are enjoying good physical health, we definitely do not want to leave this life.

We would rather Jesus delay His coming...if we are being honest with ourselves.

This is why Jesus said;

But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.  "

There was a movie that came out a few years ago called, " Heaven is for Real ".

It was about a pastor's child who supposedly had gone to Heaven.

According to the doctors the child never actually physically died.

What supposedly brought interest to the pastor was that his son told him that he had met someone who his parents had never told him about.

The person the pastor's son had met while he was in Heaven was his own sister who died in a miscarriage.

The pastor and his wife never told their son about this.

The pastor was surprised that his son knew about her and evidently this was what sparked the idea of making the movie.

While I thought it was interesting that the pastor's son met someone in Heaven that his parents knew of but never told him about, ( if all of this is true, as we never know what is true in the movie making business ), I came in contact recently with someone who personally knows this family and knows the child who claimed to be in Heaven.

Well, I asked my friend if the child, after having been in Heaven, would rather be in Heaven than be here in this life.

He told me there was one day during his childhood that he was playing out in the street and almost got hit by a car.

The pastor got after his son for being so careless.

The son responded by saying he had hoped he would be hit by the car so he could go back to Heaven.

Well, if he would rather be in Heaven than here in this life, then maybe he was telling the truth.

My friend, like I said, only people who have been to Heaven would rather be in Heaven with Jesus.

We need to keep our heart focused on Jesus and desire to be with Him more than be with our money, prosperous life and good physical health here.

We need to be watching, praying and hoping Jesus will return soon.

Keep your faith in Jesus.

This Week's Sermon: ( 5-18-16 )

" And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. "   Revelation 13:8

God wanted to become a human being even before He created this planet.

Before the world began God had already planned that He would become man and die for us.

In God's way of thinking it was aready done...even back then.

Incredible.

Jesus existed before this planet was created.

Jesus said;

" And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. "   John 17:5

However, it wasn't until what God calls the latter times, that He became a human being.

My friend, always remember what Jesus said about Himself;

" I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.    John 14:6

This does not mean that Jesus is one of many ways to Heaven, as some believe.

This does not mean getting to Heaven requires Jesus plus someone or something else, as many believe.

What Jesus said means literally Jesus, and Him alone, is the only way to Heaven.

We either believe this or we don't.

The choice is ours.

This Week's Sermon: ( 3-29-16 )

" For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. "   Hebrews 4:15

" These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. "   John 16:33

I have discussed some of the reasons God chose to become a human being, the main reason being, to keep those of us who believe in His Son Jesus, out of eternal hell.

My friend, merely believing in God and that there is a God does not save us from eternal hell.

We must also believe in Jesus.

Jesus clearly said;

" Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.  John 14:1

God wants fellowship with as many human beings as willingly will choose to believe in His Son, Jesus, unto eternal life.

Another reason God became a flesh and blood human being was to find out what it is like to be one of His own creation with all our weaknesses.

God wanted to subject Himself to temptation and experience our temptations, as the writer of Hebrews said;

" ...but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. "

In the human flesh of God's existence He actually " learned " obedience;

" Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; "   Hebrews 5:8

Also, in God's childhood growing up, He learned obedience;

" And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man. "   Luke 2:51-52

As a result, because God overcame in His flesh, by our faith in Jesus we can also be overcomers and we can now have a relationship with God as He wants to have with us.

If we belong to God and continue to abide in Him, through our faith in His Son, Jesus, He shares everything He has with us for all eternity.

Wow!

Give your heart to Jesus before you die and stay with Jesus to the end.

This Week's Sermon: ( 3-23-16 )

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.  "   John 3:16

While it is true Jesus died to set us free from sin, the bondage of sin and being a slave to sin;

" Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. "   Romans 6:18

" But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. "  Romans 6:22-23

Paul knew that the main reason ( though not the only reason ) God became a flesh and blood human being and died on the cross, was to keep us out of eternal hell - that is, those of us who choose to believe in Jesus.

Jesus said again;

" And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up.

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. "   John 3:14-15

God knew even before He created this planet that He would become a human being and die on the cross for us;

" And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. "   Revelation 13:8

" In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; "   Titus 1:2

When Adam and Eve became separated from the living God by their act of disobedience, God wanted to buy the human race back through His shed blood, death and resurrection so we can live with Him for all eternity, rather than spend eternity in hell.

God wants fellowship with us, His created beings.

This is why He died for us.

Unfortunately, what most people do not believe is that we must rest our faith in Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, and in Him alone, in order to escape eternal hell.

Jesus admitted that few will actually believe in Him as being quite literally the only way to Heaven, and this is sad, since He died for all people.

" Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it  "    Matthew 7:14

Salvation is for anyone... whosoever will believe.

" That whosoever believeth in Him...  "   John 3:15

Before you die, put your faith in Jesus, just as the criminal on the cross did just hours before he died.
