John 12:26 ( posted 11-1-13 )

“  If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him willmyFather honour.

Let's continue.

  If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him willmyFather honour.

While it is Biblically true Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us...we can leave Him, just as Demas, who was a minister with Paul did;

For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia. “   2 Timothy 4:10

So, if we want to remain with Jesus we must remain with Him.

If we want to be with Jesus we must be with Jesus.

Jesus clearly said;

Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.    John 15:14

Notice Jesus said;

if

John, the writer of the book of John in which we are studying clearly said;

Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.    1 John 2:24

Notice just as Jesus said;

if

John also said;

If “

Our salvation, perfection, justification, forgiveness, cleansing in the blood of Jesus, sanctification, and eternal life depends on our counting the cost and staying with our walk with Jesus...willingly.

Jesus clearly said;

For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he havesufficientto finishit?      Luke  14:28

John also said as far as continuing in Jesus;

And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.   1 John 2:28

Having trouble getting answers to prayer? Remember what John said;

  Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.

And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. “   1 John 3:21-22

Our eternal life is provided in Jesus Christ but the final outcome depends on us.

This is why Paul said;

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:      2 Timothy 4:7

So much for the modern day evangelical fantasy myth of  “ once saved, always saved ( eternal security ) and predestination “...at least the way it is taught in today's modern liberal sin condoning world of evangelicalism.

Jesus Himself said clearly;

And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.   Matthew 24:12-13

Yes my friend, Jesus said it is the one who endures to the end, is the one who will be saved.

Again, this is why Paul said;

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:      2 Timothy 4:7

According to Jesus, Paul and Peter, many who once believed in Jesus unto salvation will depart from “ the faith. “

As per what Jesus said in the verse of our study, if we stay with Jesus, God the Father will honor us.

They key is, stay with Jesus and walk in the light as He is in the light.

I will continue with verse 27 in the next study.
