Revelation - Part One
This study on Bible prophecy will not be restricted to the book of Revelation.
This study will include other parts of the Holy Bible... such as Daniel, Ezekiel, Matthew, Thessalonians, etc...
The book of Revelation is not the only book in the Bible that has to do with prophecy.
There are verses throughout the Bible that mention prophetic events that most people have no clue exist.
While there are countless prophecies from religious and secular people thoughout the centuries whose writings are still being deciphered, I will stay with only prophecies mentioned in the book known as the Holy Bible...since I personally only believe what the Bible has to say about prophecy.
I will discuss such things as:
1.) Where the " antichrist " will come from.
2.) Signs in our present day that has to do with Jesus' return.
To understand Bible prophecy, we must acknowledge that according to the Bible, the time frame commonly referred to as the " last days" actually began 2000 years ago.
Yes, 2000 years ago Peter announced;
" But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of sYes, Peter moke: The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. " Acts 2:16-21
Yes, Peter declared that what the prophet Joel prophesied that was to happen in the last days;
" And it shall come to pass in the last days, "
was happening at that moment and that moment was 2000 years ago;
" But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; "
To help get this all in perspective, David said;
" For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. " Psalm 90:4
Peter also said;
" But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. " 2 Peter 3:8-9
If you cannot grasp the Biblical truth that the " last days " began at the moment Peter said this, which was 2000 years ago, then you will never understand Bible prophecy.
You will be caught unaware as per what Jesus said;
" And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. " Luke 21:34-36
While many followers of Jesus hopefully would not be;
" overcharged with drunkeness "
many will be ;
" overcharged with cares of this life "
The result being;
" so that day come upon you unawares. "
Jesus said further;
" For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. "
I personally know people that know nothing beyond the end of their nose about news of world events, let alone local news events.
Most people live unto themselves and their focus is only on what satisfies their immediate craving and lust.
These people will be overtaken by the cleverness of the " antichrist " to the point they will happily sell their soul to him.
I will continue this study on Bible prophecy.
